Elvis Vinyl Cover

For this project, I chose a musical artist that I was interested in and made a premium vinyl cover that someone would want to buy and keep as a collectible. Elvis has been one of my favorite artists since I was a child, and I wanted to pay tribute to his fame and importance throughout music history. I wanted to really focus on Elvis’ most recognized songs. Honing into this, I chose to make one half of the vinyl include all of his songs that he ever won a golden record for and the other half includes his platinum songs. 

The package I designed is a double gatefold with inner sleeves to protect each record. The first half of the package is gold to show off his younger days when he won most of his golden records. The second half is more grayscale to show off his platinum records that he won later in life. The inside of this double gatefold mirrors the rhinestone eagle that is on his famous white cape that he would wear to many of his shows. When you see someone dress up as Elvis for a costume, his white jumpsuit with this cape is the outfit that most people know him for wearing’ that’s how iconic it was.
